Obituary

Willis (Will) D. Riddell of Orlando, Florida, passed away quietly on December 1, 2021, to go be with the Lord. He was 89 years old. Will was born in Hamilton, Ohio on July 16, 1932 to Gertrude and Roscoe Riddell.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Marilyn, and his daughter Melissa; and is survived by his 5 other children, Cheryl, Todd, Joel, Robert, and Robyn; 13 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren; many other family members and friends all of whom love him immensely. He will be missed terribly. He was an outstanding man, father, husband, and friend. We all continued to learn from his example as he aged with such humility, kindness, and love. He is truly one of a kind. All the staff at his skilled nursing facility would speak often about how much they love Will and what a nice man he was. They all were broken hearted when his passing occurred.

He earned his bachelor's degree from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio. He proudly served as a sergeant in the US Army, in the tank gunnery division. He served in the Korean conflict in the 3rd Armored Division, Company B, 13th Arm. Inf. Bn. He was proud of his service and so were all of us. When he returned home his family continued to grow; and with an unmatched work ethic, so did his career as an executive in retail giants such as Sears and Walmart. He is a man of deep faith and we are certain he influenced so many people in a positive way through all his interactions. He served as a deacon at his church for as long as he was able and as he grew older one of his favorite words was "hallelujah". He would proclaim with a big smile.

What a great blessing to have known Will and even greater blessing to have him as a father or friend. Rest In Peace until we meet again.

A private interment was held Thursday, December 16, 2021, at Rose Hill Burial Park, Hamilton, Ohio. Minister, Dr. John Lewis from The Presbyterian Church of Hamilton officiated.
