Obituary

William (Bill) Walter Wiederhoeft at 66 years of age, was welcomed home by his Lord and Savior on April 27, 2021, in Sanford, FL.

Bill is survived by his wife, Jean (Royer); daughter, Marie of Charlotte, NC; son Mark (Jen), granddaughters Adriele & Talita and grandson, Anton of Warrensburg, MO. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Verona (Huebner) Wiederhoeft of Edgar, WI; and his daughter, Regina of Anápolis, GO, Brazil, South America.

Born on July 24, 1954 in Wausau, WI, he grew up on a dairy farm with his parents and two older brothers, Warren and Ardell. There he learned how to fix anything that was broken!

Bill studied Mechanical Drafting at the North Central Technical Institute in Wausau and worked at Drott Manufacturing. His co-worker, Chuck Beatty led him to the Lord during that time. He attended the New Tribes Mission (NTM) missionary training courses in Waukesha, WI; Rochester, PA and Camdenton, MO.

He was willing to help out wherever needed, even putting his training on hold to help with the renovation of the headquarters building at 1000 E. 1st Street in Sanford, FL. Returning in July of 1978 to complete his final semester in Rochester, PA, he met his future bride, Jean Royer. They were married in December of the same year. Their daughter Marie was born while they were studying at the linguistics course in Camdenton, MO.

God placed in their hearts a desire to be in ministry in Brazil, working together with NTM's partner mission Missão Novas Tribos do Brasil (MNTB). They arrived in Vianópolis, GO, Brazil in July of 1980. Regina and Mark were born while they lived there. December 1982, they moved to Anápolis, GO where Bill, together with Silvio Monteiro, took care of the bookkeeping for MNTB.

Bill was a part of the MNTB leadership team from 1999 – 2016. He and Jean began their new ministry in member care on the East Brazil field in 2016 continuing until they retired from MNTB in 2019. They returned to the USA to treat his cancer while helping out as staff in the Homes of Ethnos360 (previously called NTM Homes).

Bill strove to live his life as unto the Lord, to make the Good News of the Gospel known among the people of Brazil.

The Memorial service for Bill Wiederhoeft will take place on Saturday, May 1st at 3:00 PM at our home in Sanford, FL. There will be a light luncheon following the service.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that you consider donating to the Hebrom Retirement Center Pavilion Project.
