William (Bill) Vasil Tyrlick, 86 of Maitland, Florida passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2017.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Margaret M. Tyrlick (nee Frauel), and two children, William R. Tyrlick (Susan), Marta Heller (Ira) and 3 grand children - Sarah and Joy Tyrlick and Jacob Heller. He was predeceased by his father, Dan, his mother, Martha (nee Selep) and his sister Irene Wilczynski of Portage, Indiana, the mother of his niece Denise Coots and nephew Robert Wilczynski , both of Indiana.
Bill was born in Gary, Indiana on January 1, 1931. He received a Bachelor's of Science in Electrical Engineering degree from Purdue University. A Korean War veteran, he used his army experience as an introduction to a career in Telephone Systems and Networks. He was awarded nine US patents while working in Research and Development. Later he worked on projects that involved modifying communication equipment to meet the special needs of the users. He was a member of the American Legion Post 0367 in Gary, Indiana, the IEEE, and a Registered Professional Engineer (MA). He was an avid golfer and was a long standing member of the Orlando Metropolitan Bridge Center.
A Celebration of Life service will be held by the family at a later date.
