Obituary

William Gabriel Spano, 86 of Longwood, Florida passed away Thursday, March 31, 2016. Mr. Spano was born September 3, 1929, in Ashtabula, Ohio to Frank and Lena Solembrino Spano.
William Spano served in the U.S. Army from 1948 to 1952 and enjoyed a successful music career as a professional trumpet player all over the United States for such bands such as Jimmy Dorsey's Orchestra, Johnny Long, Bob Chester, Ralph Marterie, and Bob Cross before settling down in Florida to begin a two-decade run as lead trumpet for Walt Disney World's "Top of the World" Orchestra in their Contemporary Resort Hotel.

William is survived by spouse Harriet Spano, children Pamela Meyers, Leah Spano, Megan Spano, and Lindsay Spano. Brothers Joseph (Mollieanne), Anthony (Dede), and Frank Spano, Sister-in-Law Mary Ellen Miller, Cousin John (Ann) Long, and many nieces and nephews.
