William Earl Simpson

William "Bill" Earl Simpson peacefully passed with his daughters by his side on Sunday, February, 28, 2021 in Fern Park, FL. Bill is survived by his three children - Barry Simpson (Christine), Kelly Eubanks, and Donna McGrew; three Grandchildren - Kevin McGrew, Matthew Simpson (Hillary), and Meghan Simpson; and one Great Grandchild - Tripp Simpson. Bill was born on September 5, 1931 in St. Louis, MO to Orville Simpson (deceased) and Evelyn Rogers (deceased). He graduated from Roosevelt High School in St. Louis, MO at the age of 16 in 1947. He graduated from the University of Missouri, Columbia, MO in 1955 with degrees in Personnel and Psychology. His studies were placed on hold for four years while serving his country in the United States Air Force from 1951 to 1954 during the Korean War. He was stationed at Luke Airforce Base, Arizona. He was awarded the Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. Bill moved to Brevard County in 1956 to work for McDonnell Douglas Corporation (1956-1968) where he was the Personnel Administrator for Mercury and Gemini space programs and was responsible for hiring 800 employees and did so out of a hotel room at the Holiday Inn, Cape Canaveral. Bill then worked at Martin Marietta before accepting a position as Personnel Director at Tupperware Home Parties and commuted until his move to Orlando in 1970, where he worked for 17 years until his retirement. He was a member of Saint Mary Magdalen Catholic Church from 1970 until his passing. He was a very social person and was involved in supporting and volunteering in his community by tutoring children at English Estates Elementary School and South Seminole Middle School; he was on the board of directors for Lake of the Woods Community; volunteered as a Poll Worker for Seminole County; volunteered at the annual Veterans Golf Tournament in Central Florida and donated to several charities and foundations involving children, Veterans and animals. Bill also formed and organized the annual Tupperware Retiree dinner/luncheon program, which brought together retirees of all ages to share and reflect on old times. He was an avid reader who enjoyed puzzles and loved animals. An Inurnment Service with Honor Guard is scheduled for Friday, March 19, 2021 at 1:30PM at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery in Mims, FL.
