William D. McDonough, entered into eternal rest on November 18, 2015 after a long battle with Multiple System Atrophy (MSA). Bill was born in Ironton, Ohio on September 25, 1939. Graduated from St. Joseph Catholic High School, Ironton, Ohio in 1958. Immediately after high school Bill joined the United States Navy as a submariner, serving on board the USS Conger (SS-477). Bill retired from the US Navy and AT&T. He previously volunteered for Meals on Wheels and Hospice of the Comforter. Bill was predeceased by his wife Joan who died this past February 8. They celebrated 54 years of marriage. Also predeceased by his daughter Deirdre, brothers Charles and Patrick and both parents Charles and Myrtle. Bill was adopted when he was a small child by his aunt and uncle, Kathryn and Norman Levine. He is survived by his sons, William II, John and Christopher and loving granddaughters Hillary and Deirdre. A viewing will be held at DeGusipe Funeral Home, 9001 N. Orlando Avenue, Maitland, FL 32751 on Sunday, November 22 from 6-9p. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Annunciation Catholic Church, 1020 Montgomery Road, Altamonte Springs, FL 32714 on Monday, November 23 at 9:30am. He will be buried next to his loving wife and daughter in Highland Memory Gardens, Apopka, FL. The family would like to thank the clergy and staff at Annunciation Catholic Church and all caregivers at Hospice of the Comforter for their care and support. We would also like to thank family, friends and neighbors that have assisted or provided support in any way these last few years. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in dad's name to Hospice of the Comforter or Give Kids the World.
