William "Bill" Eisengart, 92, of St. Petersburg died March 16. Born Feb. 20, 1924, he was a proud Marine who served in the Japanese theater during World War II. He met his wfie of 64 years, Carol, after she captured his attention while she walked home with a friend. They married six months later and had three children. Bill worked in the automotive industry in Pittsburgh and, later, St. Petersburg, after moving there in 1972. He was a member of the Wyoming Antelope Club and a skilled mechanic, shooter and artist. He was known for his ability to fix anything and his knowledge of everything from history and politics to physics, despite never attending college. Bill was preceded in death by his son William Carl Eisengart; brother Robert Eisengart and grandson, Elliot Hartill. He is survived by his wife, Carol; daughters, Christy Hartill and Karen (Joe) Robinson, both of St. Petersburg; grandchildren Holly Beam, Derek Eisengart, Eric Eisengart, Catherine Hartill, Robin Hartill, Amy Possidente, Daniel Robinson and Heather Swanhart and 12 great-grandchildren.The family would like to extend its thanks and appreciation to the staff of Menorah Manor for providing wonderful care to Bill. Services will be private.
