William Cribbs, died peacefully on May 4, 2018 in Altamonte Springs, Florida at the age of 73.
William is survived his wife, Luz Zapata of Apopka, Florida; two sons Wayne Cribbs (Debbie Bird), Matthew Cribbs (Lisa Cribbs), four daughters, Gina May Cribbs (Joshua Roley) of Lancaster, Ohio; Tammy Bonetempo of Port Orange, Florida, Lisa Flemming (Ken Flemming) , Tina Parker (Lowell Nelson); two sisters, Jane Fundersol (Paul Fundersol) of Wintersville, Ohio, Lee Merrill of Tuscarawas, Ohio; 15 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews who all loved him dearly. He is preceded in death by his mother, Betty Cribbs; son, Paul Cribbs; sister, Barbara Marrouilis , previous wife, Helen Cribbs and Ronnie Hoover.
William was born on January 12, 1945 to Wayne Milo and Betty Jane Cribbs in Wheeling, West Virginia. William was dedicated to scouting. He was a Cub Scout, Boy Scout and Eagle Scout. He graduated from Follansbee High School. He immediately joined the Army following high school. William remained in the Army Reserves and was deployed to Dessert Storm. After his military service, William worked in the finance industry in Cleveland and Steubenville Ohio. He later went to school to become a Police Officer. William worked security for Jefferson county and was a Police Officer in Cadiz, Ohio and Altamonte Springs, Florida. Upon retiring, he worked at Burlington assisting in loss prevention. William loved his dogs, the Steelers, playing golf, softball and bowling.
Public Visitation has been scheduled for Tuesday, May 8, 2018 beginning at 6 PM followed by his funeral service at 7 PM at DeGusipe Funeral Home ~ Maitland Chapel, located at 9001 N.
