William Graham Collins, Sr., 94, of Longwood, FL, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 10, 2016. Born in East Boston, MA on October 8, 1921, he proudly served in the U.S. Navy on an LCI (L) in the Pacific in WWII. In December, 1960, he married the love of his life, Roberta (Bobbie) Liebert Collins. He was Captain of the William R. Farrell, tug, in Boston for many years, before becoming a Civilian Pilot for the U.S.Navy at the Boston Naval Shipyard. He and his family moved to Longwood, FL in 1977 where he became a business owner and ultimately worked in the automotive field before retirement.
Graham was a proud Master Mason for 73 years. He was a member of Star of Bethlehem Lodge, A.F.&A.M., Wakefield, MA, a member of South Seminole Lodge, #364, F & A.M.; Scottish Rite, Orlando; York Rite and Commandery, MA; Bahia Shriners and Legion of Honor.
Graham and Bobbie were avid square and round dancers for 25 plus years.
Graham will be greatly missed by his his wife, Bobbie, of 55 years, and his three children; his loving daughter, Caroline Collins Lautenburg of Oviedo, FL and Son-in-Law, Michael Gregory Lautenburg; and his two wonderful sons, William Graham Collins, Jr., of Raleigh, NC and David Graham Collins, of Deltona, FL., along with three awesome grandchildren; Linda Lautenburg, Robert Lautenburg and Sidney Graham Collins. He was recently blessed with a beautiful great grandchild, Mason Ryan Jakubcin.
Friends and family are invited to join us for a Celebration of Life on Saturday, March 19th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at The Country Club at Deer Run, 300 Daneswood Way, Casselberry, FL. Military Honors will take place at 6:00 p.m.
A private burial service will be held at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
