Obituary

William Carl Roll (Bill) peacefully closed his eyes on earth and opened them in Heaven to spend eternity with Jesus on June 6, 2024. The beloved husband, son, brother, father, and grandfather leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and devotion.

Bill was born on February 8, 1960 and grew up in Fairfax, Virginia. After graduating from North Carolina State University with a degree in Civil Engineering, Bill moved to Washington, D.C. Bill met Hope Clayton and got married on June 10, 1989. Soon after, they relocated to Winter Park, Florida where they built a beautiful family. He is survived by his loving spouse and their four children: Wesley Canali (Daniel), Maggie Drummond (Matthew), Billy Roll (Bre), and Allie King (Sam).

Bill was a proud grandfather to Ruby, Betty, Billy, Eloise, and Stetson. He was eagerly awaiting the arrival of his future grandchildren, Camellia and Jackson.

He was the cherished son of Dr. William E. Roll, Jr. Bill is also survived by his siblings: David Roll (Sue), Robert Roll (Penni), Becky Farace (David), Charlie Clayton (Lisa), and Cole Clayton (Jae). He will also be fondly remembered by his twelve nieces and nephews.

Bill was predeceased by his mother, Harriet Compe Roll, and by his in-laws, Charles W. Clayton and Joan B. Clayton, his brother-in-law, Clay Clayton, and sister-in-law, Rachael Clayton.

Bill's life was distinguished by his unwavering devotion to his family and his love of the Lord. Bill would conclude each dinner prayer with "Let this food strengthen our bodies so we can go out and do Your work". As a lifelong follower of Jesus, he would gather weekly to learn and teach Bible Study Fellowship. It was also his honor to serve on the board of the Orlando Union Rescue Mission for many years. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
