Born in Paden City, West Virginia to Paul V. Bowen & Dorothy Smith Bowen. He was raised in Erwin TV, graduated from Unicoi Co, High School and then enlisted in the US Navy serving aboard the USS Saratoga.
He met his soul mate Lydia T. Keaten, while still in the Navy. They were married on September 6th, 1959, after Bill completed school at the Southern Institute of Graphis Arts in Nashville. After marriage, Bill & Lydia moved to the Orlando area. He was an active member of the College Park Presbyterian Church (formerly John Knox Presbyterian) since 1959, serving his Lord & Savior in many capacities.
Bill was an avid sports fan and especially loved the Gators.
Predeceased by his parents, Paul & Dorothy Bowen and brother Terry Bowen.
Survivors include: Lydia T. Bowen (wife); Children: Jane Bowen Owens (Scott), Paul W. Bowen and Mark W. Bowen (Selina). Grandchildren: Kylee, Keaten, Sean, Luke, Keegan, Mylan, Brock, & Trey.
Brothers: Scott Bowen (Erwin TN), Gary Bowen (Unicoi, TN); Sisters: Judith Bowen Sparks (Erwin TN), Patty Bowen Stapleton (Grayson, GA), Connie Bowen Caudle (Erwin TN) & Sharon Bowen Fridley (WV) as well as many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Bill's honor may be made to College Park Presbyterian Church or the National Parkinson's Foundation.
