Obituary

William R. (Bill) Cook 87 went to be with the Lord Friday, August 14, 2020 at Dolphin View Rehab. He was born in Van Buren, Kentucky July 25, 1933 and grew up in Crestwood, Kentucky. He and his wife, Joy, were married 66 years. He retired from Chevron Oil Co. and moved to St. Petersburg from Concord, California in 1986. He served in the US Army from 1954 to 1956.

He is survived by his wife, Joy, and sisters, Polly (Josh) Jocelyn of Dayton, Ohio and Betty Hornbeck of Greenfield, Indiana. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

He loved the Lord. Until his health began to fail he was very active in church, he served as a deacon and was currently a member of Clearview Baptist Church. He collected books on religion and WW II, Country and Gospel music and oil company memorabilia. He and Joy loved to travel and visited all 50 states and many foreign countries.
