Obituary

Weichuan Joseph Ruan died peacefully at home in Orlando, Florida on November 20, 2024, at the age of 91.

Weichuan is survived by his wife Junying Zhao, two daughters: Fang Brill (Patrick Brill), and Yong Ruan (Xiping Yang), and two grandchildren: David Brill, and Yianjun Yang. He is preceded in death by his father, LideRuan, and his mother Yixin Li.

Weichuan was born on July 1, 1933, in Zhongshan, Guangdong Province, P. R. China. He was employed as a senior engineer at a manufacturing company in Urumqi, Xingjiang Province, P. R. China. He also had a great love for music and achieved a high level of violin playing. He taught his two daughters the violin, on which both became professional teachers and players. Throughout his life, also taught many students, and was very dedicated in this endeavor.

There will be a wake on Friday, November 29, 2024, from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at the DeGusipe Funeral Home & Crematory located at 905 Laurel Ave, Sanford, FL 32771. There will then be a Requiem Mass the following day, Saturday, November 30, 2024, at 10:30AM at St. Thomas More Catholic Church (SSPX) located at 550 Riverview Avenue, Sanford, FL 32771, with a reception to follow. Fr. David Thomas, SSPX, will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend. Flowers and condolences may be sent to 13801 Magnolia Glen Circle, Orlando, FL 32828.
