Obituary

Waymon F. Singleton, 82, of Maitland, FL, formerly of Tallahassee, FL entered into eternal life on Monday, February 5, 2018. He was born May 29, 1935 in Tallahassee.

Waymon was preceded in death by his father, Terry Waymon Singleton; mother Easter Forrest Singleton; and two sisters, Dorothy Ann Savage and Mary Etta Trimble.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years; Elaine J. Singleton, Children Sheri Bell (Gregory); Terry Singleton (Carole); Julie Michel (Jon), Grandchildren Steven Bell (Pamela); Christopher Bell; Jason Bell (Caitlin), Joshua Bell; Leah Singleton; Luke Singleton; Ashley Singleton; Sara Michel, Foster Grandson William Belt, and Great Grandchildren, Clark Bell; Charlie Bell; and Maci Bell, Sister-in-Law Diane Grove, and many nephews, nieces, and numerous treasured friends.
Waymon married (Carla) Elaine Jones, the love of his life in 1960. He is a veteran of the United States Navy and served his country proudly on the USS Johnston (DD-821).

Waymon worked in the Automotive Parts Industry for over 32 years and earned a position managing an Automotive Association. During his tenure, he lobbied for the automotive industry and was successful in orchestrating many changes. He retired in 1990 and worked part-time for his son, Terry, until he fully retired in 2011.

Waymon was devoted to his family, enjoyed fishing, golfing, Lil Hogback, travel and watching competitive sports. He was especially fond of baseball, Florida State University football, and often told family to "leave it all on the field".

He faithfully loved the Lord. He served as Senior Warden at two different churches in his lifetime and was a member at New Covenant Church in Winter Springs, FL at the time of his death.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February, 10, 2018 at 1:00 PM, with a reception to follow at New Covenant Church, 800 Tuskawilla Road, Winter Springs, FL.

The Right Reverend Carl E. Buffington, Jr., The Reverend Cannon Christopher Caudle, and Fr. Clint Kandle will officiate the Celebration of
Life service.
