Walter Skladanowski, 80 of St. Petersburg, FL passed peacefully from this life on Wednesday, January 21,2015 with his family by his side. Walter taught school at Norwood Elementary for 26 years from 1966 - 1992. He was affectionately known by his students as "Mr. Sklad". After retirement, when Walter saw one of his former students, he always remembered their name. Walter loved his family and worked hard to make sure that he provided for their needs. He was a kind and quiet soul sitting for as long as possible on the front steps of his home to enjoy the beauty of the outdoors. Walter is survived by daughters Kristin Normandeau, Jacksonville, FL, Periann Henry, Murfreesboro, TN, and Laura Breau of Seminole, FL. He is survived also by his son Tom Skladanowski, Pinellas Park, FL. One daughter, Mari Skladanowski Middleton, left Walter and family in August of 2001. He was also predeceased by his wife, Nena Skladanowski in November of 2013. He leaves 8 grandchildren, Larry Normandeau, Michelle, Normandeau, J.D. Henry, Kyle Henry, Dustin Henry, Tommy Skladanowski and Jessica Middleton and Heather Ferriolo along with two great grandchildren, Annabelle Normandeau and Jayce Ferriolo. Walter loved life and family and was well loved in return.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Walter's honor to the Pinellas Education Foundation - IMO Walter Skladanowski - "Mr. Sklad", to be distributed to a teacher under the "Teach for Excellence" program.
