Walter A. Roman passed away peacefully on March 20, 2024 at his home in Altamonte Springs FL. Walter was born December 8, 1935 in Wilkes-Barre (Miners Mills) PA to the late Walter Roman Sr and Regina (Kot) Roman. He served in the US Army and married Helen Koons on May 4th, 1957. They moved to Rochester NY where they had two children. Walter worked for General Dynamics and the family was transferred by the company to Hof, Germany for 2 ½ years. While there, they were able to explore various countries in Europe. Returning to the Rochester area, they had 2 more children in Penfield NY. Walter served VFW District 8, NY Quartermaster 1972-1975 Post 9483. Working for Stromberg-Carlson, Walter and family transferred to Altamonte Springs FL in 1977. Walter later retired from Stromberg-Carlson (then known as Siemens). He and his wife enjoyed traveling around the state and on cruises. In his later years, Walter enjoyed spending time with family, daily talks with his beloved sister, visiting breweries, weekly flea market trips and his exercise classes.
Walter will be very much missed by his children: John (Rose Jaworski) Roman of Casselberry FL, Kathy (David) D'Ambrosio of Longwood FL, Frank (Jen) Roman of Sanford FL and Jim (Terri) Roman of Altamonte Springs FL. His grandchildren: David (Monique) D'Ambrosio of Atlanta GA, Kelly (Carl) Velez of Maitland FL and Robbie Walsh of Debary FL, his great-grandson Xavier D'Ambrosio of Atlanta GA, his sister Cecelia (Roman) Prizzi of Pittston PA as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Walter is predeceased by Helen (his wife of 62 years), as well as his siblings Regina (Roman) Kazmercyk, Francis Roman, Peter Roman, Paul Roman, John Roman, Rose (Roman) Goobic, Joseph Roman and his nieces Regina Prizzi & Linda (Goobic) Flaker.
