Walter McFadden died peacefully July 17, 2019 in Longwood, Florida at the age of 88. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years Mary Ann, and was the only child to Walter McFadden Sr. and Beatrice Withers of Brooklyn, New York. His children Kathleen and husband David, Maureen, and husband Richard, Brian and Shawn along with his grandchildren Caitlin, Emma and Jack mourn his passing.

Walter grew up in New York achieving honors at St. Francis Prep and St. John's University, and was keenly interested in basketball. In 1952 he entered the Army, and became an accomplished sharpshooter and instructor. He was a senior claims adjuster for major insurance companies, moving to Fort Lauderdale to raise his family. Walter was an avid tennis player, sharing the love of the sport with his wife and his daughter Maureen. Life was always better with ice cream, preferably chocolate.
His funeral wake will be held Monday July 22 at 10am, and mass as 11am at St. Mary Magdalene in Altamonte Springs, with a graveside service at 1pm at All Souls in Sanford.
