Wally Hernandez, age 57, of Deland, Florida, passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife and family on April 3, 2021. Wally was born on April 2, 1964 in Brooklyn, New York, the son of Julio Hernandez and Luz Garcia.

Wally's genuine love for life and for people is what he will be remembered for the most. Wally had the biggest heart, always lending a helping hand to anyone that needed it. He loved making others laugh with his funny jokes and his presence when he entered a room with his unique charm and energy was felt by all. His greatest gift was of himself. Above all, he had an immense amount of love for his family. He was the most devoted husband and father. His love for his children and grandchildren was his greatest pride and he was so proud of all of them. He will be deeply missed.

Wally is survived by his wife of 16 years Tina Marie (Mashak) Hernandez, mother Luz Garcia, daughters Brianna Grace Hernandez and Melissa (Patrick) Barnes; son Wally (Liz) Hernandez; grandchildren Elwood and Carl Barnes; brothers Alex and Harold Hernandez and Fabian (Daylin) Torres; and sister Nancy (Frankie) Toste; Cheryl Gausepohl, mother-in-law and father-in-law Bruce Mashak and brother-in-law Trey Colbert.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. The family invites you to leave a message of condolence and/or a fond or funny story about your memory of Wally on the Tribute Wall created in his loving memory.
