Obituary

Wallace Bryan Sowers of Winter Springs, Florida passed away peacefully at the age of 93. He was born in Charleston, West Virginia on December 30, 1923 to the late William and Cecilia Sowers. Wally loved to play tennis and had many stories to share with his grandchildren. He was famous for giving the children the knuckle and loved wrestling with the boys. He worked in real estate in Fort Lauderdale, Florida for over 30 years and wheeled and dealed with the best of them. His hobby was playing poker and won millions, too bad it was not real money. He loved life and lived it to the fullest. Just a week before his passing he was helping in the yard with the cleanup from Hurricane Irma. He had a sharp mind and was a great storyteller. His great delight was in his grandchildren, I think he figured his kids were already bestowed with his rich wisdom and humor. He is survived by his five children, Kirk Sowers (wife Cynthia), Terry Williams (Husband John), Brenda Flood, Becky Heatherington and Cindy Burlingame (Husband Dave). Grandchildren: Nicole, Monica, Julie, Rochelle, Bryan, Billy, Ashley, Erica, Austin, and Brandon. Great-grandchildren: Madison, Abigail, Johnny, Jacob, Landon, Trevor, Conner, Brooke, Brady, and Belle. He leaves behind his nieces and nephews who he loved dearly. A memorial service will be held on Friday September 29 at 3:00 PM at Glen Haven Memorial Cemetery located at 2300 Temple Drive, Winter Park, Florida 32789. In lieu of flower contributions can be made to Hospice of the Comforter: 605 Montgomery Road, Altamonte Springs, Florida 32714. We thank them for their compassion and extraordinary care.
