Obituary

Vivian Farmer, 91, of Sanford, FL. formerly of West Palm Beach, FL passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 27th, 2018. She was born on January 20th, 1927, in Nyack New York.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raymond "Buddy" Farmer Jr. in 1984; her sisters, Helen and Mary Ellen; and brother Richard.
Vivian is survived by her daughter, Suzanne Ward; sons Ray Farmer III and John Farmer; granddaughters, Kelly and Tracy; grandsons, Ryan and Greg; great granddaughter Allissa; great grandsons, Morgan,Ryker, and Mason; and great great granddaughter Sophia.

She married Ray Farmer, the love of her life, in 1948. They raised their family in West Palm Beach until their move to Sanford in 1982. The children, grown with young families of their own, moved to Sanford and started R.W. Farmer, Inc Plumbing Supply.

Vivian joined the Hospital Auxiliary in 1985 and totaled 15,000 hours of volunteer service by 1999 when she was awarded the Frist Humanitarian Award for her volunteer work at CFRH. She continued to volunteer as long as she was physically able. The Hospital Auxiliary wrote a tribute to Vivian and said," She spreads cheer wherever she goes and her path can easily be traced by the smiles she leaves in her wake. It's nice to see someone give to others so willingly."

Vivian loved to crochet and there are hundreds of her hand made items (baby booties, afghans, St. Nicholas dolls, and scarves to name a few) that were donated to members of the community.

She went out of her way to make friends and had an open, inviting spirit. A service heart was God's gift to her.

The funeral is scheduled for Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the First Methodist Church 419 S. Park Ave., Sanford with a reception to follow.

David Killingsworth will officiate the
ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Vivian's life.
