Ms. Vival Deen Travis- Gilson died peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family on September 30, 2020 in Longwood, Fl at the age of 79.

Her Sister Jane Travis-Schulenberg of Huntsville, Ala. Brother, Danny Travis of Fayetteville, Tenn. Scotty Travis of Huntsville, Ala.
Sons, Bryan K Gilson of Lexington, Kentucky. Mark S Gilson of Kissimmee, Fl and Chris Gilson of Melbourne, Fl.
Granddaughters, Lindsey L Gilson of Winter Springs, Fl. Kara M Gilson-D'Assaro of Maitland, Fl. Maura M Gilson of Westlake, La. Leticia M Gilson of Kissimmee, Fl. Baeleigh B Gilson of Westlake, La.
Great-grandson, Caleb Safier of Winter springs, Fl.
Niece, Nicole Summers of Huntsville, Ala.
Vival Deen Travis-Gilson was born on March 21, 1941 in Huntsville, Ala to John W Travis and Ulua M Travis. She graduated from Huntsville High School in 1959 After moving to Texarkana, Texas in 1960, Vival began working for Raytheon and then married John C Gilson in 1961.In 1972 the family moved from Miami, FL to Longwood, Fl
She retired from the Seminole County, Fl parks department after 22 years of service in 2007.
A celebration of life is scheduled for October 15 at 10 am at Annunciation Catholic Church located at 1020 Montgomery Rd, Altamonte Springs, FL 32714. Due to Covid 19 and Social distancing the celebration of life will also be streamed online for individuals with a high risk and for those out of the Orlando area, please contact her son Mark for the streaming information.
Vival Deen Travis-Gilson's Ashes will be laid to rest in Huntsville, Ala in the near future. Mark Gilson will send out this information as it is available. Father Alvin Erni will preside over the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Vival Deen Travis-Gilson's life. In lieu of flowers please donate in her name to the cancer society
