Obituary

Vicki Lynn Torres, 78, died at home on April 28, 2025. Throughout her 3 1/2 year battle with cancer, Vicki's personal fortitude and her faith in God never wavered.

Vicki's parents, and her brothers: Norman L. Crawley and Robert C. Crawley pre-deceased her.
Vicki is survived by her husband, Joe (Jose) Torres; their sons: Christopher and Randal (Jessica); her granddaughters Aurora and Noemi; her grandson, Nicholas Hughes; her sister, Janys Abate (Edmund); and nieces & nephews.

Vicki Lynn Torres was born in 1946 to Valerie and Robert L. Crawley. She and her 3 siblings were raised in New York State and attended local Catholic schools. Growing up, Vicki enjoyed horseback riding and Broadway musicals.

Vicki met her future husband, Joe Torres, at a party in Manhattan. They were married in 1969. Vicki and Joe had 2 sons together: Christopher and Randal. In 1977, Vicki, Joe and infant Christopher moved to Altamonte Springs, FL where Vicki's parents already resided. Vicki attended Rollins College and obtained her degree in Business Management. In time, Vicki started her own company doing Human Resources Consulting.

Vicki enjoyed various hobbies throughout her life including landscape painting and designing/crafting Christmas decorations.

Vicki believed in giving back to the community, and was always generous with her time and considerable talents. She was a member of Central Florida Spokes for many years. Vicki continued to be actively involved with Annunciation Catholic Church in Altamonte Springs, including the Saint Therese of the Little Flower Circle, and the Prayer Wheel. She organized many fundraising events for charity, particularly those involving homeless children.

Family was always the priority in Vicki's life. One of her greatest joys was being a grandmother, or "Gammy", as Vicki's granddaughter Aurora called her.

Vicki was a loyal friend and always fun to be around. Her signature farewell was, "It's been a slice of Heaven".

Vicki's faith in God was ever strong and she would often say, "It's in God's hands".

Vicki Lynn Torres will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
