Vibha Shah passed away on the 10th August 2020 at 3:30 pm at Health Central Hospital, Ocoee, Florida.

Vibha was born on 27th June 1946 in the small town of Dara es-Salaam in Tanzania, Africa. She was the second of two children having an older brother Narendra. Her parents Dahayabhai and Daiben Patel were very fond of their daughter and there were many tales of her mischievousness. She was said to be full of life, fun and got up to anything and everything apart from studying. She had many friends and was always out and about. She took part in Garba dressed as a boy and was somewhat of a tomboy.

Vibha's sister-in-law, Snehlata and the wife of Narendra, had a big part in looking after Vibha when she was young and fondly remembers Daddaji, Vibha's Dad running after her with a stick to get her to study for her exams--somehow she always managed to escape and would be out till late with her friends. However, she always passed with flying colours.

During her teenage years the family moved to Gujarat in India and to Vallabh Vidyanagar where Vibha obtained her degree in science.

Vibha's wish was to move to the UK to be with her brother Narendra and her two nephews Hitesh and Shilpen but circumstance took her to USA. She worked in science for all of her career and the latter part with the American Naval Base in San Diego, California. She had many happy stories of her time there and had great rapport and friendships with her colleagues.

Having moved around the USA, she found herself settling in California where she gained a new family of her own with her late husband Jagdishbhai and his two daughters Bhaviniben, Falguniben and son Jayeshbhai and wife Hetalben and families.

In her latter years she moved to Florida to retire and be near her nephew Shilpen. In 2018 Vibha attended a family wedding in the UK and she was able to meet up with many of her close family and friends. Where ever she moved to, she found a wealth of friends and left a lasting impression on them.

Jolly, direct, willing, mischievous, helpful, welcoming, and outright funny are some of the words to describe her life and demeanor. There was always a great feeling of joy to be around her and she bought a smile to your face.

We pray that Vibha rests in peace with her parents Dhayabhai and Dhaiben and her brother Narendrabhai.
