Obituary

The Summersill family has lost their Patriarch, Thomas R. Summersill, 87, of Geneva, FL who passed away August 31, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born July 22, 1927 in Osceola, FL to the late E.T. and Effie (Shirley) Summersill. Tommy served his country in the U.S. Army and Merchant Marines. He was a member of the American Legion Post 53, Sanford Elks No. 1241, a founding member of Florida Agricultural Aviation Assoc. and a member of the National Agricultural Aviation Assoc. where he received recognition for his innovation in early crop dusting. Tommy was also a founding and active board member of Geneva Historical & Genealogical Society.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel "Priest" of 60 years. He is survived by his son, Tommy (Mary Ann); daughter, Lou Ann (Charlie); grandchildren: Lindsey ( Eric) Smith, Lacey (Mike McCorie) Taylor, Jeff (Melissa) Summersill, and Bret (Amanda) Summersill; and two great grandchildren: Emily and Jessica Summersill.

Graveside services with military honors will be held 10:00 am Saturday, Sep. 6th at Geneva Cemetery
