For once, I'm afraid, the words won't come.
Maybe it's the shock that has struck me dumb.
This has happened before to our family,
but it is none the less heart breaking, as you will see.
Our wonderful grandson, Tommy, lost his life,
leaving behind three children and a wife.
Amanda stood by him through the years
as he served in the Air Force, but then you see,
his life was destroyed by PTSD.
No more will we hear that infectious laugh
as he pokes fun at us with his wit so brash.
Tommy loved his family, and we loved him,
so now he is in Heaven with uncles Doug and Jim.
I know that God will welcome him, and hold him in His arms
and I feel that all the angels will surrender to his charms.
I say this, for what it is worth, because
Tommy charmed us all while he was on this earth.
Tommy will be remembered and sadly missed
by his wife Amanda, three children Erin, Tommy Jr., and Cole
plus his loving family and friends.
