Thomas Gilbert Lowrie, born April 17, 1946, in Harrisburg, PA, passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2024. He was the son of the late Marie Novinger and James Lowrie.
Tom graduated from Millersburg/Upper Paxton High School, class of 1964. He was a member of the chorus, the band, football team, dance band and Yearbook Staff. He earned degrees from Industrial Management Institute and Reading Area Community College, Reading, PA. In the 1960-1970's he was a member of the Westshoremen and the Westshoremen Bonnie Scots Drum and Bugle Corps.
Tom was a U.S. Army vet and a 55-year member of the American Legion. Most recently he served as an Executive Board Member of the American Legion, Post 63, Winter Garden, FL.
He was a life-long member of the Hebron United Methodist Church, Millersburg, PA.
Tom was an avid car buff and was a drag racer at several central Pennsylvania tracks in the 1960's. He was a past President of Central Florida Corvette Association.
Tom retired from Lockheed Martin in 2011 after 31-years.
He enjoyed traveling, with his wife Sue, visiting various areas in the U.S., Canada, South America, Europe, and Africa. From the North Cape to Cape Horn, Tom enjoyed every moment.
Tom is survived by his wife Sue of 51-years, and several nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by two sisters, Mary Anna Stehman and Jane Hoy.
A celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at DeGusipe Funeral Home, Ocoee, FL.
