Thomas Janik, 70, passed away Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Central Florida Regional Hospital, Sanford, Florida. Tom retired from Syracuse University after 40 years of service.

Tom enjoyed going to the casino with his friend Grace. Tom was predeceased by his wife Janet, his parents Rev. Joseph and Josephine Janik, his brother John, his sister Catherine (Kasia) Jackowski and his nephew Kenny Heffernan.

Surviving are his son Louis of Old Forge, NY and two grandchildren; his brother Joseph and his wife Peg of North Syracuse; his sister Florence Heffernan and her husband Edward of Crescent City, Florida, and Port Leyden, NY, his sister-in-law Carol Janick of Syracuse; his companion Grace Anderson of Oviedo, Florida and many nieces and nephews. No public service is planned.
