Obituary

It is with tremendous sorrow that we announce the passing of our son, Thomas Luke Heidrich, 52, on February 21, 2020 after a long battle and complications of Muscular Dystrophy.
Tommy, as he was known to family and friends, was born July 30, 1967 in Orlando, FL. He graduated from Seminole Community College in 1985 with a high school diploma and studied to be a Microsoft Certified Professional. He was single and lived in Orlando all his life.

Tommy had an analytical mind and was great with numbers, spelling and computers. As an adult, he could be found most of the time with his nose buried in his laptop, so intent upon whatever he was working on that it was never easy to get his attention unless you were holding a plate of ribs or anything sweet. In addition to computers, Tommy loved cars and always took great pride in whatever vehicle he owned. He was an avid science fiction reader, enjoyed playing tennis with his older brother as a young man, and later developed an enthusiasm for golf. Tommy was a fan of the Miami Hurricanes as he had a friendship with a former player.
Tommy had beautiful blue eyes, a wonderful smile and a good sense of humor. He was self-confident almost to the point of stubbornness, and once his mind was made up about something he would not waver. He was also a spiritual man, though a private one.

He is survived by his father: Francis X. Heidrich, Jr., Orlando; mother and stepfather: Marcia A. (Ligas) Emerson and Kenneth Emerson, St. Augustine; siblings: Francis X. Heidrich III, Winter Springs; Christine H. Stone (Christopher) Chuluota; James M. Heidrich, Daytona Beach and Ashley E. Heidrich, Maitland; paternal grandparents: Francis X. Sr. and Rachel Heidrich, Maitland; as well as countless aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m., March 3, 2020 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church Chapel, 526 N. Park Avenue, Winter Park, FL with a reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association https://www.mda.org/ (tribute donation in memory of Tom) or
American Lung Association at http://action.lung.org/goto/TommyHeidrich .
