Thomas Dugan, 82, of Winter Garden, Florida, passed away on January 17, 2024. He was born on March 11, 1941, in Chicago, Illinois. Thomas, known as Tom, was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Tom had a vibrant personality and a wonderful, if sometimes off-color, sense of humor that could light up a room. He had an incredibly inquisitive and mechanical mind, always eager to solve problems and engage in meaningful conversations with others. Tom was a passionate football fan, with the Chicago Bears and South Carolina Gamecocks being his favorite teams. He also enjoyed playing golf, often sharing the course with his brother Jack, his son Steve, his son-in-law Mike, and his grandsons Sean and Collin. Tom's love for travel took him to different countries, where he could explore their history and immerse himself in new experiences.
In addition to his interests, Tom had a successful career in sales. He spent the 1970s as a senior sales executive with Siemens, developing a deep appreciation for Germany during his frequent visits. In 1981, Tom pursued the American Dream and became self-employed. Being his own boss allowed him to build a thriving business, where he worked tirelessly until his 80th birthday.
Tom proudly served in the United States Army and had a strong military association. He cherished his time in the military and embraced the camaraderie and discipline it instilled in him.
Tom's educational journey began at St. Thomas Aquinas primary school and continued at Austin High School. He furthered his education at the College of Dupage.
Tom worshipped at Holy Family Catholic Church, where he found solace and peace.
In his free time, Tom enjoyed watching Jeopardy and Fox News, cheering on the Chicago Bears, playing golf, and attending his grandchildren's various activities.
