Thomas Vincent Cregan, age 54, passed peacefully on July 24, 2020. Tom was born December 3, 1965, and had a wonderful childhood and family life in the Cleveland, Ohio area. Loving parents John and Christine (Conway) Cregan, little sister Julie, along with aunts, uncles, and cousins helped make many special memories there. Growing up he loved being outdoors, playing sports (especially hockey), building things, and understanding how things worked (at age 5 he disassembled a TV).

The family moved to Naperville, Illinois while Tom was in Junior High. A natural athlete, Tom played many sports over the years. He excelled on Naperville North's football, track, and club hockey teams. He had very active social and work lives as well, including starting his own businesses from a young age.

He continued playing hockey along with his studies at the University of Dayton, Dayton, Ohio. Following graduation he worked in sales before starting his own company Lock Stock & Window. That and construction work led him to a job leading crews renovating hotels in the Midwest.

Following a move to Florida in 1997, he worked briefly for Jim Macon Construction before joining newly formed company Friedrich Watkins Company. Tom spent many wonderful years with them, of which there are numerous wonderful stories.

In 2012, Tom got his General Contractor license, and started Vision 360. Through much hard work, and the best employees he could hope for, his company became successful. Tom thoroughly enjoyed his work and new challenges. Tough but clear, there was never a question about what he thought, never a gray area. There was never a dull moment with Tom. He loved his employees, and was beloved by them in return.

Tom met wife Kari in Chicago, and they married April 1996 at Holy Name Cathedral. They have 2 children, son Jack and daughter Amanda, all surviving Tom. Tom enjoyed coaching Jack in football and passing on his love for the drums, and loved to see his daughter advance in Irish dance. Tom especially appreciated working with Amanda at Vision 360.

Music was a big part of Tom's life. He was a talented drummer, and enjoyed many years playing in bands, culminating with The Boxhounds.

He spent many seasons passionately coaching youth football. He loved those kids and worked very hard to bring out the best in each one.

Tom was preceded in death by both parents; survivors include wife Kari, children Jack & Amanda, sister Julie and brother-in-law Dan Schleitwiler, nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, August 3rd, 2020 from 11:00am to 12:00pm at Nativity Catholic Church, 3255 N. Ronald Reagan Blvd., Longwood, FL 32751
