On Saturday, January 13, 2024, Thomas C Lilly Jr "Tom", our beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend passed away in Casselberry, Florida at the age of 66.
Tom is survived by his wife Janice, son Adam, his two sisters, and brother and many nephews and nieces. Tom is preceded in death by his parents Thomas C Lilly and Barbara Wathen Lilly, his sister Cynthia Lilly, and nephew Matthew Hamilton.
Tom was born on 2/19/57 in Ft. Pierce, Florida. He graduated from Indian River Community College. He worked in the restaurant business and construction before opening the Barbeque Shack with his brother Kevin in Orlando. After the business was sold, he was a building inspector starting in Sanford, then for 15 years at City of Winter Park, and finished his career at Universal Engineering Sciences.
Tom loved spending time with his family, barbequing, fishing, and relaxing at the beach and in the mountains. He was always so positive and helpful to everyone he met. His demeanor was always one of calmness, kindness, and an amazing sense of humor. He enjoyed spending time with his church family over these many years with barbeques and his famous coleslaw and beans, filling in wherever needed, from grounds maintenance, to playing a jolly bearded red suit guy that we might all know.
Tom was well loved and will be deeply missed by his family and by all of those whose lives he touched.
Come join us as we celebrate Tom's life and cherish our memories of him on Saturday, January 27 at First Covenant Church of Winter Park, 1720 Howell Branch Rd, Winter Park, FL 32789 at 11am with a Barbeque lunch to follow, in Tom's honor.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Covenant Church of Winter Park.
