Obituary

Thomas (Tom) A. Palmer Sr. of Lake Mary, Florida met his Lord and Savior after suffering cardiac arrest on November 25, 2021 at the age of 81. Born on August 24, 1940 in Milwaukee, Wi, he had a good life with his mom, dad, and three sisters. Tom went to college in Milwaukee for one year and then enlisted in the Air Force and he was stationed at Tyndall Air Force Base in Panama City, Fl. That is where he met his first wife, Peggy Law. Together they had two sons and later divorced. Those two sons were Tom's everything!

In 1981, Tom married Kathy Baumann, moved to Florida and continued his career as a structural steel detailer. Tom had previously worked in California and Wisconsin, but after a few years working in Florida he went into partnership with another person and eventually owned his own business.

Tom had quite a sense of humor and nothing made him happier than to see the person with whom he told a joke to laugh and smile at him. He also loved a good party! He had two hobbies. Tom loved antique cars and owned his pride and joy, a 55 Chevy convertible. He also had a huge interest in toy trains. Tom had an elaborate train layout at home and would spend hours trying to develop ideas to enhance the layout. He loved trains so much that vacations would be spent on some form of a train and in his retirement he worked for several years at Disney's Magic Kingdom as the conductor on their trains. That was a job he couldn't stop talking about! Tom was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and was a Cheesehead through and through! Tom traveled extensively with his wife and recently his two sons joined them which made the vacations a lot of fun.

Tom was predeceased by his father, Frank Palmer, mother, Dorothy Palmer and two sisters, Kathy Palmer and Barbara Smith. Tom's surviving family includes his wife, Kathy Baumann Palmer, his sons, Tommy Palmer and Marc Palmer, a sister, Nancy Palmer, his sister-in-law Michele Baumann Holland (Harper), brother-in-law, Kevin Baumann (Suzy) and many nieces and nephews who were all an important part of his life.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Sanford, Florida at All Souls Historic Chapel, 800 S. Oak Avenue on Saturday, Dec. 11 at 10:30 am. Between 10-10:30 am the family will greet those participating in the service at the chapel.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital: https://www.stjude.org
