In Loving Memory of Teresa Jean Grashoff

Teresa Jean (Nyberg) Grashoff, the caregiver with the heart of a lion, passed away on February 26, 2022 after losing her fight against cancer. Teresa, or Terry as she was known by her high school friends, was born on August 9, 1960 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the daughter of Jeanne M. (Smith) and Milton J. Nyberg.

Teresa is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her loving husband of thirty years, Stewart A. Grashoff; her sisters Ann (Nyberg) Mugglebee, from Los Angles Calif. , Karen (Nyberg) Rodarte, from Truckee Calif., and her brother Clark Nyberg, from Lexington Ky.

Although her time with us was way too short, she touched and cared for many with that wonderful smile. There were times in her thirty-five year nursing career that she took the time to be bedside with those that had no loved ones to comfort them in the last hours of their life. As she would say "No one should be alone when going to be with the Lord". This will be her Legacy.

Teresa would not have wanted her family and friends to mourn her passing but to celebrate the wonderful times and memories created over the past sixty-one years. The following is a passage that sums her thoughts best:

I'm Free

Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free
I'm following the path God laid for me,
I took his hand when I heard him call
I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to work or play
Tasks left undone must stay that way.
I found that place at the close of the day.

If my parting has left a void
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss.
Ah, yes, these things I too will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow.
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life's been full, I savored much:
Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all to brief:
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me.
God wanted me now. He set me Free.
May you rest in peace my dearest wife. I love you more today than yesterday.
