Obituary

Weigle, Sylvia Stella (Bart)
Beloved mother and wonderful friend to many, died January 18, 2020 in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Born Jan. 11, 1926 in Chicago, IL, Sylvia married John B. (Jack) Weigle, in 1949. They were blessed with six children; and Sylvia always made each child feel wanted and cherished. Sylvia was predeceased by her husband, Jack and her son, Raymond. She is survived by her large and loving family, including her children, Glenn Weigle (Pam), Mark Weigle (Eileen), Janice Barnes (Mario Garcia), John Weigle (Cathy) and Julia Guthart (Joseph); her brother, Alex Bart (Mary) ; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, extended family members and dear friends. Jack and Sylvia moved from Downers Grove, Illinois to St. Petersburg Florida in 1973. She will be remembered for her loving nature and how she often befriended the shy, lonely, and depressed. She loved to read recipes and cook books and did the crossword puzzle and word jumble in the daily newspaper. She was an excellent cook especially for a big crowd; her lasagna and chili recipes passed down to grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a loyal and devoted Catholic but not in a strict way; she instilled this faith in all of her children; making sure of attendance at CCD (religious education classes) and receiving the sacraments. She showed kindness to all and taught us to forgive, and to trust God's plan for us.

A Viewing and Rosary will be held on Thursday, January 23 from 1-3 pm at R. Lee Williams and Son Funeral Home, 3530 49th Street North, St. Petersburg, Florida 33710.

A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, address:2281 State Road 580, Clearwater Florida 33763 on Friday, January 24, 2020 at 10 am.

Sylvia will be reunited with her husband in the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, where she will be interred with him as their final resting place together.
