Stuart W.Arnold Sr., Age 82 of Clearwater, FL died suddenly Monday, September 11, 2017 at his residence in Tierra Verde, Fl. He was born in New York,New York on December 9, 1934, the son of Stuart and Florence (Cross) Arnold, and was a graduate of Admiral Farragut Academy Class of '52.
The ultimate entrepreneur, he moved from New York to St Petersburg, FL in 1973 where he founded and ran Auto-Trader magazine for over 17 years. He later owned and operated CPN television studios in Clearwater, FL along with many other successful business ventures.
An avid yachtsman, large vessel Captain, twin engine pilot,and jet helicopter pilot,Stuart enjoyed spending time on the water, usually upon his boat the "Ivory Lady".
He was truly a unique personality. He had a tremendous sense of humor and thoroughly enjoyed imparting humor into most situations around him. He possessed a true passion and zest for life, which helped him to develop relationships with almost everyone he came in contact with.
He is survived by a son, Stuart Arnold and wife Valerie Arnold of St. Petersburg, Fl. and; a daughter, Bonnie Arnold, of St. Pete Beach with Isaac Llannes; 5 Grandchildren, Heather (Jantz) Graham and husband Otto Graham, Kurt Jantz Jr. with Stephanie, Stuart Arnold (IV), Blake Arnold and Fallon Arnold; 2 Great Grandchildren, Max and Jake Graham and many friends and extended family, including the Dawson's (Madlyn, Mike, Olivia and Abigail).
The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to all friends and family for their loving care and support. The world has truly lost a unique character.
Memorial services will be held at 7:00P.M. Friday, September 29 at the R Lee Williams Funeral Home.
