Steven Robert Newman's Obituary
Steven Robert Newman, 69, of St. Petersburg passed away Monday July 16, 2018 surrounded by his family.
He was born in Muncie, Indiana. His family eventually settled in the St. Petersburg, FL area in 1957. He graduated from Dixie Hollins High School in 1967 and the University of South Florida in 1985.
He retired after 28 years of service with GTE/Verizon. After retirement he enjoyed traveling, riding his bikes, and watching old Cary Grant movies. Music was his passion, whether it was listening to it or playing it on his guitar. However, more than anything he loved his family.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Brenda Gayle Newman. His daughter and son-in-law Andrea and David Duff. His sister, Melanie Britner and his two grandsons, Kevin and Cameron. Also, numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial gifts can be given to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
