Obituary

Steven R. Farris Sr., 68, of Casselberry, Florida went to be with his Lord after a long illness on
Thursday afternoon, April 27, 2017, surrounded by his loving family at home.

He was born on February 20, 1949 in Orlando, Florida. He was preceded in death by his father
Cecil Calvert Farris, Sr., mother Sadie Virginia Matthews Farris, and his sister Virginia Ann
Farris Donahoe. He is survived by his faithful wife, Bonnie; son Steve Farris Jr.; daughter
Angela Piccone and her husband Ben; their sons Isaac, Nathan, and Peter; daughter Rachel
Farris; son Justin Farris; daughter Charity Manco and her husband Justin, who are expecting a
precious baby girl this month; son Jeremy Farris; brother Cecil Calvert Farris Jr., his wife Bev,
and their son Tim, daughter Becky, and their families.

Steve served in the army reserves with an honorable discharge to go into ministry studies. He
became an ordained minister after graduating from Homestead College of Bible in Winter Garden, Florida. Steve met his future wife Bonnie when she visited his church, and he later made a follow-up visit to her home. They were married on December 18, 1971 in a beautiful outdoor ceremony at Lake Eola in downtown Orlando. They recently celebrated their 45th anniversary.

Steve owned a very successful business doing residential and commercial improvements for
over 45 years. His quality work was well known all over Central Florida and surrounding areas.
Steve's skills were much sought-after due to his stellar reputation and high level of customer
service. Throughout the years, as his children became old enough, they worked alongside him
and learned the value of hard work and integrity.

When he wasn't working, his favorite past time was being anywhere on the water, either sailing
or fishing. Steve loved people, and he never hesitated to share his faith, leading many to the
Lord. He also had a great sense of humor, and loved making others laugh. The highlight of his
life was the births of each of his children.

A memorial celebration of his life will be held Saturday, May 6th at 10:00 am in the main sanctuary of Northland Church, 530 Dog Track Road in Longwood.

The entire family would like to extend our grateful thanks to the Vitas Healthcare team for their
loving care and support.

"For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor
things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able
to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
—Romans 8:38-39 KJV

"Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints."
-Psalm 116:15
