Stephen (Steve) Crawford passed away on September 11, 2023 in Orlando, Florida at the age of 93. He is survived by his five children, Karen Watson (Peter), UK; Gary Crawford, M.D. (Elizabeth), Wilmington, NC; John Crawford (Lucinda), Charleston, SC; Richard Crawford, Orlando, FL and Susan Dunnavant (Tim), Orlando, FL, all of whom were at his bedside when he passed. He is also survived by his eleven grandchildren, Kristy, Julie, Andrew, Nicholas, Emily, Stephanie, Matthew, Ian, Aubrey, JT and Ava, and ten great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Kitty of 56 years.
Steve was born on February 7, 1930 in Port of Spain, Trinidad to Aubrey (Jock) and Fernande Crawford. He graduated from Loyola College in Montreal, Canada. After graduating he returned to Trinidad to work in the oil fields like his Dad. After retirement, and several years in Trinidad, he, Kitty and Richard moved to Orlando to be close to family.
Steve had a tremendous zest for life, reminiscing about his early childhood and life in his beloved Trinidad. He loved golf, travel, and entertaining friends at home. Most of all he loved his family and spending time with them. In his last year, he survived many medical challenges, but his zest for life pulled him through every time. Now he is reunited with his beloved Kitty in heaven.
A funeral is scheduled at 10:00 am, September 14, 2023 at Annunciation Catholic Church in Altamonte Springs, FL, with a reception following the service. Flowers and condolences may be sent to DeGusipe Funeral Home, 9001 N. Orlando Avenue, Maitland, FL. 32751.
