Obituary

Stephen Fenn Anderson passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, due to multiple health complications at HCA Florida Lake Monroe Hospital in Sanford, FL. Born to Robert and Nora Anderson of Americus, Georgia, Stephen lived a life dedicated to family, faith, and service.

Stephen had a long and distinguished career in retail management. He was employed as a retail manager for Butler Shoes at the Winter Haven Mall for many years, having begun his retail career in a local grocery store in Americus and later working at a men's dress shop in Lakeland, FL, during college. After Butler Shoes was sold to Dulce, a French corporation, he continued in his managerial role until his retirement on December 30, 1990. Following retirement, Stephen remained active in the retail shoe business, fitting and selling orthopedic shoes in Orlando, Florida. He later returned to retail sales at Dillard's in Sanford until health complications led to his full retirement on April 18, 1998.

Stephen was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Nora Anderson; his brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Patricia Anderson of Ellaville, Georgia; and two nephews, Ricky Anderson and Chad Anderson, both of Ellaville, Georgia. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Ellen King Anderson; daughter, Atalie "Nikki" Anderson; nephew, Robert Gregory Anderson of Plains, Georgia; along with additional extended family.

A devoted family man, Stephen will be deeply missed by those who knew him. He served as a caretaker for his mother for 17 years following his father's passing in September 2001 and lovingly cared for his wife, Ellen, after she suffered a fall in 2014, until his own passing. Stephen was also an active member of his church community, assisting his daughter, Atalie, in children's ministry and participating in numerous church activities over the years. He found great joy in staying connected with loved ones through family activities, reunions, weekend get-togethers, and vacations.

Stephen's servant heart and commitment to caring for his family and friends will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
