It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that the family of Stephen "Stevie" Zachary Alford, announces his sudden passing, on Friday, April 26, 2019, at the age of 22 years. Stephen will be lovingly remembered by his mother April Craven, his three sisters Marisa, Lindsey, and Lacey, and his sweetheart Kristina Ore. He will also be forever remembered by his grandmothers, Leola Sumners, Linda Cara and Nancy Craven, his Grandfather, Harry Craven, his nephew and niece, Bruce and Victoria and a large circle of extended family and close friends. Stephen was predeceased by his father, Stephen Dale Alford.
Stephen Zachary Alford, sweet talker, joke cracker, classic rock buff, accomplished artifact and fossil collector. Stephen had a life-long love affair with music and nature and frequently enjoyed losing himself in the woods. He excelled in dancing, impersonations (especially of his father) and making people laugh. He took fashion cues from no one and was extremely proud of his "new" tank of a vehicle, his 1987 box Chevy Caprice, which got a whopping 11 miles per gallon. He enjoyed many things including snorkeling, Lynyrd Skynyrd, sunbathing, arguing his points, free food, telling stories (and you could be sure 50% of every story was true. You just never knew which 50%) and above all, his family. Stephen is gone, but will never be forgotten. He has now broken free from this mortal realm and is currently exploring the universe, having one hell of a time.
We will always remember his big beautiful soul, giving heart and insatiable zest for life. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Please hold him close, as we do, in your mind and your spirit.
A celebration in memory of Stephen's life will be held on Sunday, May 12th, 2019 at 2:00 p.m., at Don Knight Park at Lake Golden , 2301 E Airport Blvd. Sanford, FL 32773. Those who so desire may make memorial donations at:
