It is with great sadness that the family of Stephen Dale Alford, announces his passing from natural causes, on Wednesday, July 12, 2017, at the age of 56 years. Steve will be lovingly remembered by his mother Leola "Lola" Sumners, his four children Marisa, Lindsey, Lacey, and Stephen and his two grandchildren, Bruce and Victoria. He will also be forever remembered by his sister Bonnie and a circle of extended family and close friends. Steve was predeceased by his wife Victoria Alford, his brother George H. Alford Jr., and his father George H. Alford Sr.

Steve was best known for raising funds to put on Sanford's July 4th fireworks show at Ft. Mellon park for a number of years. His one man mission kept the sky alive over Lake Monroe for Independence Day festivities despite the absence of city funding. For this and countless other charitable acts we will be forever grateful and he will be dearly missed.

A celebration in memory of Steve's life will be held on Friday, July 28, 2017 at 11:00 a.m., at the Sanford Moose Lodge, 2660 South Palmetto Avenue. Sanford, Fl 32773. Those who so desire may make memorial donations in memory of Steve to: Leola Sumners, 4275 Nolan Rd. Sanford, FL 32773.
