Sophie J. Krawczyk, 97, formerly of Oswego, died peacefully August 8, 2018 at her daughter's home in Lake Mary, Florida.

Sophie was born in Oswego, the daughter of the late Stanley and Catherine Shambo.

She grew up in Oswego as the second youngest of nine children. Upon graduation from high school she began what would become a 40 plus year career in women's fashions. Sophie was an active member of St. Stephen's Church where she served on many committees and belonged to numerous church groups such as the Rosary Society and assisted in CCD. Sophie was also active in other community organizations.

With Sophie's positive attitude and love for her community, she developed many close friendships.

In 2011, she moved to Florida where she resided with her daughter, Son-in-law and grandson. While living in Florida, she maintained her connection with the church, remained active, walked daily to a nearby park, enjoyed new activities and made many new friends.

Sophie is survived by her Daughter, Mary Jo (David) Lagoe of Lake Mary, Florida, her very cherished grandson, Michael Lagoe of Lake Mary, Florida (currently practicing neurology in Central Florida) and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Joseph Krawczyk and her siblings, Joseph Shambo, John Shambo, Mitchell Shambo, Walter Shambo, Theodore Shambo, Helen Doviak, Bernice Derousie and Mary Gosek.
