Sonya Elizabeth Hall Varnum.

Sonya, born on July 26th, 1961, in Saint Petersburg, Florida, to Donald and Katie Hall, touched the lives of many. She was surrounded by her family when she passed away on October 8th, 2023, at her home.

Sonya was the beloved wife of Jason Varnum and a cherished sister to Mark Hall, Tim Hall, Donna Cohen Hall, and Rosalind Armstrong Hall. She was a loving mother to three sons, Adam Ashley, Andy Ashley, and Alex Ashley, and a proud grandmother to Mellisa Ashley, Olivia Ashley, and Andy Ashley Jr. Sonya also held a special place in the hearts of her nieces and nephews, Lindsay Cohen, Logan Cohen, Amanda Armstrong, Bryce Hall, Krista Hall, Elizabeth Hall, and Meredith Hall.

She was a graduate of Saint Petersburg High School and had a fulfilling career as a secretary at Dean Witter Financial Advisors. Outside of her professional life, Sonya dedicated 30 years to breeding AKC champion toy and teacup Yorkies, showcasing her love for animals and commitment to excellence.

Among the many cherished aspects of her life, Sonya deeply valued her close friendships with Barbi and Sandi, highlighting the importance of meaningful connections and companionship. Known for her warmth, kindness, and love, Sonya was adored by everyone fortunate enough to have known her.

A memorial service to honor Sonya Elizabeth Hall Varnum's life, wife of Jason Varnum, will be held on October 11th, 2023, at DeGusipe Funeral Home, located at 3530 49th St North, Saint Petersburg, Florida 33710. This gathering will serve as a time to remember and celebrate the beautiful life of Sonya, bringing comfort and closure to those who loved her.
