Soledad (SOL) Edelmira Aguirre Baez died peacefully in Longwood, Florida on July 25, 2023 at the age of 95.
Soledad is survived by her Daughter Maria Motes and Husband Carl of Orlando, Fl, her Sons, Ralph Aguirre, Jr. and wife Maida of Altamonte Springs, Fl.; George Aguirre and wife Patty of Casselberry, Fl.; Charles Aguirre and wife Kim of Cleveland, GA.; 5 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her brother Dr. Jose I. Baez Baez and wife Lady of Bogota, Colombia, S.A., her Sister, Stella Baez Sanchez of Boerne, Tx., Sister- in-Law Martha Baez of Boerne, Tx.; Nephews and Nieces: Jose Isauro Baez Satizabal of Bogotá, Colombia; Juan Ivan Baez of California; Maria Juliana Baez Moreno of Bogotá, Colombia; Francisco Baez Satizabal of Bogotá, Colombia; Harvey Sanchez of Boerne, Tx.; Tito Sanchez of New York, NY.; Carlos Sanchez of Boerne, Tx.; Dr. William Baez of Virginia; Alex Baex of Boerne, Fl.; Ximena Baez of Austin Tx.; Ramon Baez of Boerne, Tx.; She is preceded in death by her dear husband Ralph Aguirre, Sr. of Orlando, Fl. and her youngest brother, Dr. Ramon Baez of Boerne, Tx
She graduated from Colegio De Nuestra Senora Del Rosario in Boyacá, Colombia, S.A. and received a business degree in Bogota, Colombia, S.A. She married Ralph Aguirre, Sr. her love of her life and an Electrical Engineer, Pianist and Musician in 2/4/1950. She and her husband moved the family to Miami, Fl. USA from Bogota, Colombia in 1963.
After moving to Miami, Soledad enjoyed the weather and going to the beach. She began working for
Travelers Insurance Company where She became an Insurance Underwriter. Travelers Insurance Company relocated their headquarters to Orlando, Fl. in 1979 and She accepted a transfer to their Orlando offices and made her and her family's home in Longwood. In her retirement years, Soledad became passionate with Homeopathic medicine and attended many classes, seminars on the subject and assisted part time at the Herb Shop in Maitland and in Longwood.
Soledad was a loving and devoted daughter, Sister, Wife, Mother and Grandmother. She was creative and very talented in the art of knitting all of her life. She was a devoted Catholic and belonged to the Annunciation Catholic Church of Altamonte Springs for 43 years.
A funeral mass is scheduled for August 21, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Annunciation Catholic Church of
Altamonte Springs, Fl. with a Celebration of Life reception to follow. Fr. Stephen Baumann will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Soledad Aguirre's life.
