Sharon Charlotte Singleton (Skinner), age 78, of Longwood, Florida was called home to heaven on
Thursday, January, 9, 2025.
She was born in Coral Gables, Florida, and lovingly raised by Colton and Beatrice Skinner. Sharon
attended Coral Gables High School and earned her bachelor's degree in math and education from
the University of Miami. After pursuing careers in teaching and computer programming, she married
and relocated to Longwood in 1970.
Sharon enjoyed a successful career as a realtor in the Greater Orlando area and was a charter
member of the Lake Mary Rotary Club, where she served in various roles, including President, and
actively participated in community outreach programs. She was known for her quest for learning, her
independence, her intelligence, and her willingness to share and teach others – especially her
holiday cookie and special meal recipes. Her interests included horseback riding, traveling, writing,
reading, cooking, painting, gardening, and was a noted NASCAR fan and trivia buff.
Sharon is survived by her daughter, Denise (Dave), stepson, Paul (Junko), and grandchildren, Cara,
Devon, Erik, Alan, and Brooke. She was predeceased in death by her husband of 26 years, Russell
(Buddy) Singleton. She will be missed by family and friends here and afar.
A funeral will be scheduled in the near future at the DeGusipe Maitland Chapel with a
reception to follow. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Sharon's life.
