Shane H. MacArthur, age 62 of Apopka, FL passed away on Thurs. May 25th, 2017 with his family by his side. Shane was born in Jersey City, NJ in 1954 and served in the U.S. Navy from 1973 to 1979. After his time in the Navy, Shane moved to Florida where he met and married his wife of 33 years, Melissa (Slusser), and had two children, Ryan and Sara. Shane served in Law Enforcement for 25+ years – starting his career with the New Jersey Dept. of Corrections, continuing to the Florida Dept. of Corrections and later spending the majority of his career with the Seminole County Sheriff's Office – retiring in 2016.

Shane was the world's biggest Seminoles fan who loved spending time with family and friends, riding his motorcycle, working on his truck and could always be found in the kitchen singing along to his favorite songs. He is survived by his mother, Muriel MacArthur (Kemerling), his wife, Melissa MacArthur, his children, Ryan MacArthur (wife Deirdre) and Sara MacArthur, his sisters Kathleen Van Steen, Arlene Catapodi (husband Steve) and Maureen MacArthur, along with many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
