Sarajane Culpepper, age 90, was called home to heaven on Saturday March 15, 2025 with her niece Debby at her side. Sarajane was born December 4, 1934.
Sarajane will forever be remembered and cherished by her many nieces and nephews which include Debby, Cathy, Rob, Tom, Donnie, Kelly, and many great nieces and nephews.
Sarajane was proceeded in death by her parents Mary Elizabeth Hayward Herron, and Campbell "CR" Herron, her siblings Mary Lou Herron, Charles "Bob" Herron, and Don Herron, and her nieces Janet Clark, and Cindy Sinsley.
She was born at home on a small farm in Pughtown (New Manchester), West Virginia. In 1959 she set out on her first adventure and moved to Florida where she lead a truly amazing life. She worked for nearly 40 years as a Medical Assistant and X-ray Technician at Rogers, Madison, and Mackey Orthopedic Office from which she retired in 2011.
Sarajane embraced the adventurous lifestyle, she had her pilots license, she enjoyed riding a motorcycle across Europe and the United States, visiting Sturgis several times. She enjoyed square dancing, and listening to her beloved nephew Donnie's band BR549. She had a love for the outdoors, working in her garden, and being outside. New Smyrna Beach held a special place in her heart. In her retirement years she developed a love for Bingo, and water aerobics. Sarajane was a long time member of Aloma Church, and in her final days found peace in her faith and knowing that soon she would be in the arms of Jesus.
Sarajane had such a great love for her family and friends. We will so miss hearing the words "Hey Babe". She had a laugh that was infectious. She was so kind and thoughtful sending cards for every occasion, with a handwriting that was a thing of beauty, and was recognizable without even looking at the return address label.
The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you for the years of compassion, care, and kindness of Dr. Eddy Waldhiem.
