Sarah Elizabeth Albritton Bishop Kopp born in St. Petersburg on May 3, 1933 to Homer Curtis Albritton and Minnie Lee Williams Albritton, passed away at home on Sunday, April 1, 2018 with her loving family at her side. Sarah was a member of Riviera United Methodist Church where she served on the Altar Guild; Nominations Committee, Pastor Staff Parish Relationship Committee, Liturgist, Communications/Publicity Chairperson and Worship Chairperson for 3 ½ years. She served her country honorably in the United States Air Force-WAF during the Korean War and was an Adjudicator for the Department of Veterans Affairs. Sarah was a Life Member of the VFW Auxiliary #6827 of St. Petersburg and Past President (1977-1978) after working her way through the chairs. Former member of the Dixie PT#3 M.O.C.A. (Honor Degree of VFW) Past President and Past District 9 M.O.C.A. For over 18 years. She graduated from St. Petersburg High School Class of 1953. Joined the U.S. Air Force-WAF and served at Headquarters Air University at Maxwell AFB., Montgomery, AL. Sarah's father was born and reared in St. Petersburg on May 8, 1908 when Pinellas County was Hillsborough County, her grandfather, Thomas Jefferson Albritton served as Justice of the Peace from District 8 for the County of Manatee for a term of four years beginning January 1905 and has a original document signed by the Governor of Florida, Napoleon B. Broward which is why people always called her grandfather Judge Tom. They were definitely from a pioneer family of the area. Sarah was preceded in death by her husband Richad S. Kopp, sister, Martha A. Jones and her brother, William C. Albritton. She is survived by 3 sons: Robert L. Bishop, Jr., William C. "Curt" Bishop and Jeffrey C. Bishop; 3 daughters: Vicki L. Bishop, Joyce E. Bishop and Brittany Elizabeth Bishop who was her granddaugher until she adopted her and was known as "Grandma Mom"; step-son: Samuel L. Kopp (Patricia); step-daughter: Ruth Ann Collins (Mark). Sister: Betty S. Leduc (Theo); seven grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, April 6 from 5-7 P.M. Funeral Services will be Saturday, April 7 at the Riviera United Methodist Church 175 62nd Ave. No., St. Petersburg at 11 A.M. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery
