Sandi Hovorka
St. Petersburg - Sandra Lee Lender, 82, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2024. She left this world with strength and courage.

Early Life and Education
Sandi was born on March 4, 1942, in Pecatonica, Illinois, the child of Delores Taylor and Chester Lender. She was raised in Ridott, Illinois by her Great Aunt and Uncle Weber. She attended the Wagner One-Room Schoolhouse and graduated from Pecatonica High School.

Marriage and Family
She married her love, Charles Hovorka, on May 2, 1975, in Pecatonica, Illinois. They lived in Ridott, Illinois, until their retirement to Florida in 2003.

Career and Helping Others
Sandi worked in the home raising her children and held jobs in data entry. When her children were grown, she completed classes at Highland Community College in Freeport, Illinois to become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). She wanted to help others and was known for her compassionate care and dedication to her patients, always going above and beyond to ensure their comfort and well-being. Her kindness and generosity touched many lives.

Hobbies and Interests
Sandi loved to travel with her husband to visit family and explore parts of the US. They especially loved their time together in Nevada, Texas and many other states. Cooking, gardening, and going to the beach were her favorite activities. She loved music, attended many concerts and Broadway plays, and cheered for the Yankees, Tampa Bay Lightning, and the Chicago Bears. She enjoyed all competitive sporting events and most recently the summer Olympics.
