Sameera El-Far, age 73, of Longwood, FL, peacefully passed away at home, on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at 3:59 PM, after her year long battle with brain cancer. The services to honor Sameera's life will be as follows:

Friday, June 14, 2019 from 11 AM to 12 PM in the main sanctuary of Northland Church located at 530 Dog Track Rd, Longwood, FL 32750.

Funeral Service
Friday, June 14, 2019 at 12:30 PM at Highland Memory Gardens at 3329 East Semoran Blvd Apopka, FL 32703. Those attending this service will be escorted to Highland in the funeral procession. This will be immediately following the service at 2 PM.

Sameera was born on June 16, 1945 in Amman, Jordan to her parents, Ghali and Nour El-Far. Her family moved to Massachusetts in pursuit of the American dream, when Sameera was twelve years old. Their family quickly joined a flourishing Middle Eastern community in Waltham, MA where their roots firmly grew. The values of family and community that Sameera learned then stayed with her for her entire life.

Sameera married George Boghos in 1965. They had three children all of which were born in Massachusetts. Sameera had an affinity for the Egyptian culture and was also an amazing cook! She loved cooking most Middle Eastern dishes and it showed! Her most famous dish was stuffed grape leaves! She would not let that limit her though. She could make most American dishes with the greatest of ease as well. One of her favorite things to do was to love on her family by feeding them. It brought her great joy to hear her family raving about the meal they were eating. It was an act of ministry for her.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ghali, her mother Nour and her brother, Awny. Sameera is survived by her great love and best friend, George and her sons - Jameel and his wife Jennifer, John and his wife Laura and her daughter - Jacqueline. She also leaves behind her siblings: Hany, Norma, Eddie, Marcelle, Audette, Sonya, Jeanette, Nabeeha, and Renee. She is also remembered by her grandchildren: Matthew and his wife Rachel, Michael and his wife Alexandria, Kaylee, Rebecca, Connor and Kendall and her great grand-daughter Madelyn.

Sameera's time on Earth may have come to an end. Yet her love, life and lessons will be felt by all who knew and loved her, for generations to come.
